Teamwork, especially for prosecution authorities, is a significant aspect of the job. The efficiency of the team depends on a few important factors. Our training concept to keep control over a person (with or without operating resources) is based on a practical training program focussing on operators defense and offense skills.
The most important parameters to train with teams:
- joint team training
- simple system design
- few impact techniques (risk of injury, proportionality)
- mission/goal – get control over a person (situation)
- retrievable under stress
- a simple concept
- consideration of the initial situation (passive resistance, tight spaces, team cooperation, access etc.)
- transferability (with or without operating resources)
- modular design
- modern teaching methods
What does teamwork mean to us?
Teamwork means that work tasks are performed simultaneously by a group of people. The sensible distribution of single tasks distinguishes perfect teamwork.
Teamwork is relevant in the fields of communication, operational tactics, operational technique, constrictions, transport and tactical self-protection techniques.
Tactical team formations
An important part of teamwork is the optimal tactical positioning of the team against the potential aggressor/s. Through targeted action from this formation, access and control techniques can be implemented perfectly.
- L-Formation
- T-Formation
- V-Formation
- O-Formation (Ring Formation)
- Line Formation
Team operational tactics
Operational tactics is generally understood as a systematic, coordinated operation using verbal and physical ways of implementing the necessary measures. Important factors of execution are strength (team), time, space and purpose.
Part of operational tactics are:
- operation preparation
- tactics and strategy
- team agreements / team language
- self-protection / team-protection
- application of physical violence
- use of operating resources
- positioning of the team
- escorting techniques in the team
- access techniques in the team
- control techniques in the team
- transport techniques in the team
- perception
- information processing under stress
AN EXAMPLE – SAMI-X PRO – 6 STEPS ESCORTING TECHNIQUE CHART
The right use of escorting techniques when dealing with non-aggressive people plays an important role in teamwork (teaming). Escorting techniques in the SAMI-X PRO system means the tactical and optimal positioning when “escorting” and the right grip of the security operators when dealing with non-aggressive people. Through targeted action from an escorting position the access techniques are perfectly feasible in case of an emergency. This controlled escorting is required for a safe way of acting with a low risk for the security operators. The here introduced concept distinguishes between six different steps of situations in handling persons. We only use escort techniques up until step 4. Above that we are using transport or removal techniques. Every single step is indispensable for an optimal handling of violence and aggression. In accordance of the stage of aggression development the steps can be presented as follows:
